Our lessons are designed to provide the foundational skills required for a lifelong enjoyment in playing an instrument. The are four (4) broad components to our lessons at Hollier Music Academy. Each component is expanded upon below.

REPERTOIRE

For guitar, drums, bass, and ukulele, we teach a wide range of western popular music from the 1950's to 2024. For piano, we teach classical piano and/or modern popular piano.

TECHNIQUE

We assist students to build a strong foundation of techniques. These are the building blocks that are transferable from song-to-song and will last the student a lifetime.

MUSIC THEORY

In the early stages, we provide the essentials of music theory so that students can get started. Then, we look under the hood and get into the nuts and bolts of music.

INDIVIDUALISATION

We treat every student as an individual and we adjust our curriculum and lessons plans accordingly. We understand that each student has different interests, busy schedules, and different goals.

Who We Teach?

We welcome beginners of all ages and of all backgrounds. It is our honour and privilege to teach such a wide range of students from all walks of life.

Most of our students start at Hollier Music Academy without ever playing an instrument before or, if they have, tinkered around a little at home. Our students tend to have busy lives and learn an instrument as an enjoyable hobby. We have designed Hollier Music Academy from the ground-up in such a way that students can learn an instrument without it interfering with their schedules.

KIDS

We teach kids from around the age of 6 and above. As children face their own challenges while learning an instrument, we have designed a separate curriculum just for them.

TEENAGERS

We have taught many teenagers at Hollier Music Academy over the years. As teenagers tend have similar finger dexterity and musical interests as adults, we teach teenagers the adult curriculum.

ADULTS

Many of our students are busy workers who learn the guitar as an enjoyable hobby after work or on the weekends. Hollier Music Academy is perfect for adults as we have designed lessons from the ground up to accommodate busy schedules.

RETIREES

Many retirees learn an instrument to assist with keeping their mind sharp and healthy as they age. Others have always wanted to learn but never got around to it.
